Stanbic’s FlexiPay and TotalEnergies Partner to Ease Prepaid Customer Card Top-ups

Stanbic Bank and TotalEnergies have joined forces to offer an enhanced payment solution for individuals with TotalEnergies Cards in Uganda. Through the partnership, cardholders can now conveniently load credit to their cards using Stanbic Bank’s digital payment solution, FlexiPay. Previously, customers had to physically visit a TotalEnergies Service Station or a Stanbic Agent to reload their cards.

The new collaboration enables seamless card top-ups directly from the FlexiPay wallet, eliminating the need for a Stanbic Bank account.

Paul Muganwa, Executive Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at Stanbic Bank Uganda, expressed excitement about the partnership and its potential to enhance the service experience for customers. He highlighted the importance of strategic collaborations in delivering efficient and customer-centric solutions.

Omotesele Josephine, TotalEnergies Marketing Uganda Finance Manager, explained that the introduction of this service is a response to customer feedback requesting more convenient ways to load and reload credit on their TotalEnergies Cards. The aim is to respect customers’ time and provide them with greater control over their finances.

Fuel payment is a significant cash-based transaction in Uganda, and the country is striving to become a cashless economy. In line with this objective, the Parliament has amended the National Payments Act to ensure consumer protection in e-payment transactions.

FlexiPay, accessible via the USSD code *291# or the FlexiPay mobile app, has garnered over half a million subscribers since its market launch. The platform offers cost-effective payment options with minimal or no charges, providing users with convenience and flexibility. While owning a Stanbic Bank account offers additional advantages on the platform, it is not a requirement to access FlexiPay.

The partnership between Stanbic Bank and TotalEnergies contributes to the ongoing digital transformation of payment services in Uganda, promoting greater convenience and financial control for customers.
