In addition to the cash giveaways, shoppers will enjoy substantial discounts of up to 50 percent across various product categories, including groceries, fresh food, electronics, appliances, and homeware. Engaging competitions with instant prizes are also on the cards, adding an extra layer of excitement to the celebration.
Carrefour invites its customers to participate in the #C4anniversary social media challenge. Shoppers can visit any Carrefour store in Uganda, record a 30-second video conveying their birthday wishes to the retailer, and share it on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter using the hashtag #C4anniversary while tagging Carrefour Uganda. The participant with the most engagement and views stands a chance to win a cash prize of UGX one million.
Christophe Orcet, Regional Director for East Africa at Majid Al Futtaim Retail, expressed his enthusiasm for the company’s growth and success in Uganda over the past four years. He credited Carrefour’s commitment to providing unbeatable value and choice for its customers as the key to their success, emphasizing the importance of creating great moments for everyone, every day.
Carrefour distinguishes itself in Uganda with its loyalty program, MyCLUB, offering instant discounts and allowing customers to earn and redeem loyalty points. The retailer has also played a pivotal role in supporting the local economy by sourcing 99 percent of its products from over 500 local suppliers, contributing significantly to job creation.
Moreover, Carrefour is actively involved in corporate social responsibility through its “Round Up Your Bill” initiative, enabling customers to make donations that support vulnerable groups in neighboring communities. Since its launch in 2021, the initiative has raised over UGX 290 million for various projects benefiting Peculiar Childcare Support, Kireka Home for Children, Mulago School for The Deaf, Kiswa Primary School, Ntinda School for the Deaf, and The Noah’s Ark Village.
