Uganda’s private sector, comprising more than 90% of businesses and contributing significantly, approximately 20%, to the nation’s GDP, stands as a fundamental pillar in the country’s socioeconomic advancement. However, these vital entities often encounter a myriad of challenges that necessitate the intervention and assistance of financial institutions.
Recognizing the pivotal role played by businesses, Housing Finance Bank recently organized a contractors’ forum at Hotel Africana, uniting leaders from various sectors with a shared mission: providing feedback, exchanging insights, and offering suggestions. This initiative is at the core of the bank’s unwavering commitment to serving the evolving needs of businesses and fostering partnerships that encourage enterprise growth, with the aim of achieving a customer satisfaction rate exceeding 90% by 2027.
Guided by a distinguished team led by Mr. Michael K. Mugabi, Managing Director; Ms. Peace K. Ayebazibwe, Executive Director; and Angela Ndawula, Head of Business and Institutional Banking, alongside other senior executives, the forum served as a valuable platform for comprehensive discussions regarding the effectiveness and impact of Housing Finance Bank’s suite of business banking solutions, encompassing trade financing, vehicle financing, and asset financing.
“As a bank, we have developed a robust customer value proposition, but we are committed to continuous improvement. These gatherings play a vital role in allowing us to actively listen and gather feedback, which, in turn, supports the refinement of our solutions to align with the practical requirements of our esteemed customers,” emphasized Mr. Michael Mugabi, Managing Director of Housing Finance Bank.
Throughout the event, Angela Ndawula, Head of Business and Institutional Banking, emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in strengthening the ties between the bank and the business community. She stated, “Our commitment to the business community goes beyond financial transactions; it extends into creating enduring partnerships that contribute to enterprise growth. This forum underscores our dedication to crafting banking solutions that genuinely address the needs of businesses and contractors in Uganda.”
