Centenary Bank allocates UGX 600 million to support the next 3 Masaza Cup Tournaments.

Centenary Bank has today announced its commitment to the Masaza Cup tournament by sponsoring it with a generous package of UGX 600 million for the next three years, with an annual contribution of UGX 200 million.

As a bank dedicated to the growth and progress of the country, Centenary Bank has a strong track record of supporting various initiatives and projects across Uganda. The bank has consistently invested significant resources in promoting education, entrepreneurship, and community development. Their association with the Masaza Cup reflects this commitment, recognizing the important role that sports play in shaping the lives of young individuals.

During the launch, Balikuddembe Joseph, Executive Director of Centenary Bank, expressed the significance of the tournament as a source of hope for aspiring athletes. He highlighted how the event showcases talent, and fosters friendship, unity, and healthy competition. Through this partnership, the bank has witnessed the transformation of young talent into accomplished players who have excelled both nationally and internationally. Balikuddembe affirmed Centenary Bank’s commitment to continue empowering the Buganda Kingdom through this collaborative journey.

Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, the Katikiro of Buganda, emphasized that the Masaza Cup serves as a unifying platform for the people of Buganda. He emphasized that the tournament goes beyond football, representing a celebration of traditions, community engagement, and talent development. Mayiga expressed gratitude to Centenary Bank for their unwavering support in organizing the event and their dedication to uplifting the youth in the region.

Balikuddembe reiterated the longstanding relationship between Centenary Bank and the Buganda Kingdom, highlighting their involvement in various projects aimed at improving the lives of communities. He mentioned their participation in initiatives such as the Masaza Tournament, “Kyapa Mungalo” for land title financing, the Annual Buganda Expo, “Buganda Bumu” for the Diaspora community, school co-curricular activities, women’s initiatives, the rehabilitation of the Royal Tombs (Amasiro), E’kisakaate, the Buganda Tourism Expo, and PEWOSA, among others.

Expressing gratitude, Balikuddembe acknowledged the bank’s customers for their role in the bank’s growth and success.
